We are looking for
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, ideally gained at a Big 4 audit firm or within the finance function of an international banking group.
  • Solid understanding of key regulatory reporting frameworks, including FINREP, Liquidity, Capital Requirements, and other reports submitted to banking supervisors. Experience in preparing and reviewing these reports is highly valued.
  • Strong command of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is essential. Experience with Spanish GAAP is a plus. Proven ability to analyze complex transactions and ensure accurate accounting treatment.
  • Experience working with external auditors, including managing audit requests and ensuring the quality and consistency of financial information. Familiarity with implementing and verifying internal controls over financial reporting is required.
  • Comfortable working in multidisciplinary environments with frequent interaction across departments and with senior management. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI and Python is highly desirable. Ability to manage and analyze large datasets efficiently.
  • High level of English proficiency (minimum B2 level required). Additional languages are a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working under pressure to meet strict deadlines. A proactive and solution-oriented approach is essential.
  • <>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A relevant postgraduate qualification or professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CFA) is a plus.
Your role in the team
Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of Financial Statements: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS and Spanish GAAP, ensuring consistency and transparency in financial disclosures.
  • Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors. Manage audit requests, provide necessary documentation, and support the audit process to ensure smooth and efficient completion.
  • Accounting Analysis and Documentation: Perform in-depth analysis of financial transactions from an accounting perspective. Ensure proper classification and treatment, and prepare comprehensive supporting documentation for internal and external use.
  • Regulatory Compliance and Supervision: Collaborate with regulatory and supervisory bodies during inspections and reviews. Prepare and submit required reports and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Internal Controls and Process Improvement: Design, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and procedures related to financial reporting. Continuously assess and improve reporting processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure alignment and integration of financial reporting with broader business objectives.
  • Ad-hoc Reporting and Projects: Support management with ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting. Participate in special projects, including system upgrades, process automation, and regulatory changes.
