A leading sustainable infrastructure firm is seeking a full-time Lead Field Service Technician. This role involves managing preventive maintenance and ensuring quality control for thermal systems across Spain, with 75% travel necessary. Candidates must possess a technical degree in HVAC or mechanical systems, F-Gas certification, and have 3-5 years of relevant experience, including familiarity with chillers. Strong communication skills and fluency in English and Spanish are required.

Formación

  • Technical or Vocational Degree/Certification in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or Electromechanical Systems.
  • F-Gas Category I Certification is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a comprehensive training program at Thermal Works' U.S. headquarters.
  • Manage Preventive Maintenance and Service schedules.
  • Perform on-site quality Control for the installation of Thermal Works products.
  • Perform all preventative maintenance and service needs for clients.
  • Be available to take emergency issues when on call.
  • Monitor service software closely to ensure services are met on a timely schedule.
  • Collaboration with different departments within the company for product development and improvement.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and repair of thermal works equipment.
  • 75% travel requirement within Spain.
Skills & Requirements
  • Technical or Vocational Degree/Certification in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or Electromechanical Systems (e.g., Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior en Mantenimiento de Instalaciones Térmicas y de Fluidos in Spain).
  • F-Gas Category I Certification (in accordance with EC Regulation No. ********) is required for handling fluorinated gases.
  • 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in mechanical systems for mission‑critical infrastructure, including data centers, healthcare, or industrial facilities.
  • Must have experience with chillers and CRAH (Computer Room Air Handler) units, encompassing installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with EU safety standards, pressure equipment directives (PED), and EN 378 refrigeration safety norms.
  • Capable of performing diagnostics, repairs, and system optimizations in live environments.
Specific Skills / Abilities
  • Baseline circuit analysis and troubleshooting of electrical components.
  • Knowledge of hydronic systems.
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot HVAC systems.
  • Understand refrigeration theory as well as hands‑on applied sciences.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (additional European languages are a strong plus).
  • Ability to read drawings at a basic level.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. continuously throughout the day.
