Mission
The Global Labour Legal Manager will provide expert legal advice and support on labour and employment matters across all jurisdictions where the group operates. This is a global role, working in close collaboration with HR teams, management, and external advisors when needed. The position focuses on key areas such as employment contracts, dismissals, employee mobility, labour restructuring, and alignment with local labour regulations worldwide.
Job Functions
- Act as the primary legal partner for the People function, providing legal advice on employment and labour law matters affecting the group globally, with a focus on Spain but covering other jurisdictions as required, with local off counsel support.
- Draft, review, and update employment contracts, internal policies, and labour-related documentation.
- Advise on dismissals, disciplinary actions, and termination processes (individual and collective).
- Support the People function on international employee mobility, secondments, expatriate arrangements, and related compliance matters.
- Assist with labour restructurings and workforce reorganizations across jurisdictions, including coordination of legal processes and stakeholder communication.
- Represent SAMY in labor proceedings with public bodies, including relations with labor authorities and attendance at proceedings before the Servicio de Mediación, Arbitraje y Conciliación.
- Engage and coordinate with external counsel in various jurisdictions when local expertise is needed.
- Manage cross-border labour law situations effectively, ensuring coordination and alignment among multiple jurisdictions.
- Proactively monitor changes in labour legislation in key markets and ensure group-wide compliance in collaboration with People.
- Support internal training and awareness initiatives related to employment legal topics.
- Collaborate with the broader legal team and other corporate functions on cross-border projects with employment-related components.
Requirements
- Law degree obtained in Spain.
- 3-4 years of experience in employment / labour law, preferably in a leading law firm advising corporate clients.
- Solid knowledge of Spanish employment and social security law; experience in international matters is highly valued.
- Proven ability to manage cross-border labour law issues.
- Hands-on experience in:
- Individual and collective dismissals
- Employment contracts and policies
- International mobility and secondments
- Labour aspects of restructuring processes
- Collective bargaining and labor union relations
- Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Portuguese, Italian, German or Dutch is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, international environment.
- Strong communication, legal drafting, and problem-solving skills.
- Business-oriented mindset, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
