A leading automotive company is seeking an experienced Iberia Accountant in Madrid to provide comprehensive accounting support for MG Spain & Portugal. You will handle AP and AR accounting, account reconciliations, and ensure compliance with Spanish and Portuguese accounting standards. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience and strong skills in English and Portuguese. This is a full-time position requiring occasional travel to Lisboa.

Overview

Position: Iberia Accountant

Country: SPAIN

Reports To: Finance Manager and Finance Director

Department / Team: Finance

Purpose of role: providing the accounting support to the Finance Manager for MG Spain & Portugal

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be involved in providing the accounting support to the Finance Manager in the country :

• AP and AR Accounting
• Account Reconciliations
• G / L entries, accruals and provisions
• Payments Preparation
• Customer AR Follow up and Debt Claim
• Customer & Vendor Master Card Maintenance
• Bank postings and reconciliations
• Tax Fillings – VAT – Intrastat – Withholding Taxes
• Internal and External Audit Support
• Invoice creating
• Other related accounting tasks
• Only CV in English will be evaluated.

Qualifications

• Full time in a similar position at least 2 years.
• Familiar with the Spanish and Portuguese accounting.
• Willing to travel to Lisboa for business trip one week per month will be highly valued.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Fluent in English and Portuguese skills (oral and written).
• Able to work under pressure and on different tasks in parallel.
