Global Head of Business Development (Textile Manufacturing Marketplace)
We are an exciting new international marketplace platform designed for the textile industry, connecting textile machinery manufacturers with textile production companies and other key stakeholders to showcase the most sustainably innovative textile machinery available today. Founded by experienced entrepreneurs and supported by global investment partnerships, we generate revenue through both subscription and transaction fees.
Our platform is rapidly gaining traction. To help fuel our growth, we are looking for a Global Head of Business Development to lead our commercial strategy, drive global expansion, and manage high‑level partnerships across the textile value chain.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and coordinate country teams and local business development leaders; ensure alignment between global strategy and local execution.
- Provide direct support in key markets through client visits, negotiations, and project oversight.
- Build and manage a global commercial pipeline across the textile value chain.
- Identify, structure, and negotiate strategic agreements with manufacturers, brands, machinery suppliers, and technology partners.
- Develop scalable commercial frameworks and go‑to‑market models.
- Assess and prioritize target countries based on industrial intensity, regulatory landscape, and decarbonization potential.
- Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with industry leaders, associations, and institutional actors.
- Work closely with product, engineering, and data teams to adapt solutions to market realities.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English (mandatory); proficiency in Spanish and other languages is an advantage.
- Former Textile Engineer with extensive international commercial experience in textile machinery across spinning, knitting, weaving, dyeing, finishing, and garment manufacturing.
- Strong technical background combined with a track record in commercial or business‑development leadership within textile machinery manufacturers.
- Deep knowledge of textile machinery and industrial processes, and experience closing complex industrial or technology‑driven deals.
- Proven record in international expansion, strategic business development, and working with major textile groups, machinery manufacturers, industrial clusters, and institutional stakeholders.
- Strong global leadership skills with the ability to inspire multicultural teams.
- High commercial drive and results orientation; ability to translate technical insights into high‑value commercial opportunities.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate studies in sustainability, strategy, or energy are a plus.
