The Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) is hiring a Digital Media & Scientific Affairs Coordinator for its Communication and Institutional Relations team. This full-time, permanent role in Barcelona is central to shaping PRBB’s voice in science communication and institutional visibility. You’ll combine digital media expertise with a strong focus on scientific affairs, ensuring the PRBB continues to stand out as one of Europe’s leading biomedical research hubs.
You will drive PRBB’s communication strategy by advising the manager and director, managing digital channels (web, social media, newsletters), and producing high-impact content. The role includes coordinating providers, interns, and support staff, and actively contributing to outreach events (open days, visits, awards, press relations). On the scientific affairs side, you’ll represent PRBB in key committees such as the Good Scientific Practice Working Group and the PRBB-CRG Conferences committee, while also supporting training initiatives and internal communication tools. A strong emphasis is placed on quality, collaboration, and aligning actions with PRBB’s strategic vision.

Skills/Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a degree or master’s in life sciences/biomedicine (PhD valued) and at least three years’ experience in science communication or marketing. Proven skills in digital media management, campaign design, and scientific writing are essential. Experience leading communication projects, coordinating with researchers, or managing institutional channels will be highly valued. Candidates must be fluent in Catalan, Spanish, and English. Additional assets include postgraduate training in communication, international experience, public speaking, and prior leadership of small teams.
Specific Requirements
Nationality – Spanish or EU nationality; also eligible are spouses and dependents of EU or Spanish citizens (under 21 or dependent adults), nationals of countries with EU free movement treaties, and non-EU residents legally residing in Spain.
Age – At least 16 and not beyond compulsory retirement age.
Education – University degree (graduate or master’s) in life sciences or biomedicine. Foreign degrees require official recognition unless exempt under EU law.
Legal capacity – Not dismissed for disciplinary reasons from public administration or barred from public service. Non-Spanish nationals must prove no such sanction in their own country.
Functional capacity – Ability to perform the job duties.
Catalan language – Level C1 or equivalent; if not documented, a test will be required.
Spanish language – Non-Spanish nationals must show equivalent Spanish knowledge; otherwise, a test will be given.
English language – Level C1 or equivalent; if not documented, a test will be required.
