Role Overview

We are looking for a Cloud / Platform Engineer to join our team in Madrid, focused on setting up, optimizing, and scaling the company's cloud data infrastructure. You will play a critical role in ensuring platform reliability, security, and cost efficiency, enabling scalable data pipelines, analytics, and AI use cases across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure for data and analytics workloads.
• Ensure portability and scalability across platforms (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks).
• Implement cost monitoring and FinOps practices to optimize cloud spend.
• Build and manage CI / CD pipelines for platform automation and infrastructure as code.
• Integrate observability, monitoring, and alerting into all platform components.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects to ensure infrastructure supports open standards.
• Support orchestration of workflows (Airflow, DBT, event-driven architectures).
• Troubleshoot platform performance issues and optimize reliability and availability.

Profile / Requirements

Core Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Cloud or Platform Engineer, preferably in a data-intensive environment.
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure (Synapse, Data Lake, Databricks).
• Strong experience with Snowflake and distributed cloud data platforms.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; knowledge of automation tools (Airflow, DBT, Power Automate).
• Solid understanding of infrastructure-as-code and DevOps practices.
• Fluent in French and English (written and spoken) — both mandatory.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with cost optimization (FinOps) in Azure environments.
• Knowledge of open standards (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Parquet).
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and real-time streaming platforms.Previous experience in commodity trading, energy, or financial services industries.
