Job Summary

We are seeking an analytical and detail‑oriented Business Analyst to join our dynamic e‑commerce team as a contractor or freelancer. This role involves bridging the gap between business objectives and technical solutions, focusing on optimizing our digital commerce and online ordering platforms (both for customers and our partners) and customer experience. The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes, eliciting requirements, and leveraging data to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of e‑commerce ecosystems, strong problem‑solving skills, and be an excellent communicator capable of translating business needs into actionable technical requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Product Owner by leading sprint planning, backlog refinement, and user story preparation for one team.
  • Document functional and non‑functional requirements for eCommerce features and platform improvements.
  • Analyze data and process flows to identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and UX designers to ensure clear understanding of requirements.
  • Lead new customer onboarding processes, including setup and configuration of the product or service.
  • Maintain detailed onboarding progress records, report on metrics, and continually optimize the customer platform experience.
  • Provide initial training, documentation, and guidance to ensure successful adoption and product competence.
  • Collect feedback during onboarding to refine the process and improve the customer journey.
  • Act as a brand advocate and communicate feedback to internal teams such as Product and Support.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in any field : what we would prefer to see is professional certifications in agile methodologies, UX or requirements engineering.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst, UX Researcher, Customer Success Manager or Onboarding Manager, ideally with SaaS experience.
  • Proven experience working on platforms and digital products.
  • Experience in requirements elicitation and analysis.
  • A fan of clean and precise documentation (e.g., user stories and process diagrams).
  • Proficient in modern methodologies relevant to digital product management.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce platform functionality (e.g., commercetools, Magento, Shopify).
  • Experience working with multiple teams, ideally in a scale‑up or startup environment.
  • Demonstrable experience with analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Amplitude etc.) and using data to inform business decisions.
  • Solid experience working within Agile / Scrum development methodologies.
  • Nice to have : programming or scripting knowledge (e.g., JavaScript, Python, or SQL).
Travel & Work Arrangements / Requirements

Willingness to travel occasionally in EMEIA (less than 5% per quarter)
