A consulting firm in Barcelona is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist. In this role, you'll manage and record accounting transactions, prepare financial statements, and perform reconciliations. The ideal candidate possesses native Spanish and advanced English skills, has 2-3 years of accounting experience, and demonstrates a proactive mindset. Formación

Position: Accounting Specialist

Location: Barcelona

Employment type: Full-time

Remuneration: Base salary

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Record and classify accounting transactions in the general ledger, including income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.
  • Prepare and review balance sheets, financial statements, and monthly, quarterly, and annual closing reports.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and customer and supplier accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Manage invoicing, collections, and payments, ensuring correct VAT application and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Support the preparation of tax declarations, including VAT, income tax, and corporate tax.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial documentation in both physical and digital formats.
  • Collaborate with internal and external audits by providing required accounting data and supporting documents.
  • Assist with financial forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
  • Monitor inventories and fixed assets, including relevant accounting entries and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal company policies.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Native/fluent in Spanish (C1) and advanced level of English (C1).>
  • 2–3 years of proven experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership and drive improvements.
  • Team-oriented approach with strong collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
