Focused Energy is a fusion energy startup with the goal of generating unlimited clean energy to responsibly meet future global demand. The founders include two highly renowned scientists and a long-time entrepreneur and founder of several successful startups. With the use and commercialization of laser‑induced inertial fusion, a clean and highly efficient power generation technology is coming within reach, suitable to ensure a secure and scalable future energy supply.

We are looking for a hands‑on, service‑oriented IT Support Specialist to provide day‑to‑day technical support for our teams. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth onboarding/offboarding, maintaining our internal systems, and resolving IT issues in a fast, friendly, and efficient manner. This is a highly customer‑facing role that supports teams across the company.

What You’ll Do
1. Employee Support & Helpdesk
  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT issues via Slack, email, or ticketing system.

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues (Mac/Windows, printers, Wi‑Fi, VPN, etc.).

  • Provide timely resolution or elevate issues as needed.

  • <>Assist employees with productivity tools (Microsoft 365).
2. Onboarding & Offboarding
  • Prepare and configure laptops, headsets, and other equipment for new hires.

  • Conduct IT onboarding sessions for new employees.

  • Manage account provisioning and deprovisioning across systems and tools.

  • Ensure proper collection and reset of devices during offboarding.

3. Device & Asset Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory of laptops, peripherals, and accessories.

  • Track equipment assignment and returns.

  • Perform routine maintenance and updates on devices.

4. Systems Administration Support
  • Support user access requests and permission changes.

  • Assist with identity management tools (Azure AD).

  • Support endpoint management (Intune).

5. IT Operations & Process Improvement
  • Document troubleshooting steps and create internal knowledge base articles.

  • Identify recurring issues and propose improvements.

  • Support small IT projects as needed (office setup, network upgrades, security enhancements).

Who You Are
Must-Have
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk, or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of macOS and/or Windows environments.

  • Basic knowledge of networks, VPN, and common productivity tools.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Fluent in English and German.

Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.

  • Familiarity with MDM tools such as Jamf, Intune, or Kandji.

  • Basic scripting knowledge (Bash, PowerShell, Python).

  • Experience supporting hybrid or multi‑office environments.

  • Interest in IT security or system administration as a growth path.

  • Strong communication skills in both English and German
