An established global provider of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing services is looking for a Director of Business Development to drive growth within its CDMO offerings. Specializing in complex and high-value chemistry, the company partners with biopharma clients to develop and manufacture APIs, peptides, and antibody-drug conjugates.

Summary :

This strategic role will focus on expanding commercial opportunities across the CDMO space, with a particular emphasis on peptides and complex APIs. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record in business development within the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors, with significant experience selling into large pharma. Strong existing relationships and a history of success with large pharmaceutical clients are essential. A deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle, outsourcing strategies, and the intricacies of the CDMO market is also critical to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with pharmaceutical and biotech companies, focusing on complex and high-potential development and manufacturing programs.
• Serve as the primary interface between clients and internal technical teams to align on project needs, capabilities, and timelines.
• Build long-term client relationships that drive revenue growth and expand the company’s presence in the CDMO space, particularly in peptide and API manufacturing.
• Lead contract negotiations and manage deal structuring to ensure mutual value and alignment.
• Support strategic planning efforts by providing market intelligence, forecasting insights, and competitive analysis.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial or business development experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with a focus on CDMO services.
• Strong technical and market knowledge of APIs, peptides, and other specialty chemistries.
• Experience working with or within large pharmaceutical companies is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to close complex, high-value development and manufacturing agreements.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support client engagements across Europe
