A leading design software company seeks an Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers. The ideal candidate will foster a high-impact culture, support team growth, and collaborate closely with product managers and UX designers. Responsibilities include developing product capabilities and automating design processes. Strong leadership and hands-on engineering in cloud-based systems are essential. This role offers a chance to make a significant impact on users' workflows while supporting sustainable design initiatives.
Join Autodesk and the Forma Design team as our next Engineering Manager. In this role, you’ll stay technically engaged by contributing production code alongside the team, while managing a group of engineers and helping them grow and succeed.
Webelieve there is a better way to design our cities. To enable this, we aim to transform how architects and engineersworkthrough collaborative, outcome-drivendesigntools.
Your contributions will have a direct impact on shaping our offering, enabling our users to discover smart, sustainable solutions and gain valuable insights in their projects.
You’ll help create an environment where engineers feel supported, challenged, and empowered to do their best work. You will work as part of a dedicated product team within Forma Design, partnering closely with Product and Design in an empowered product triad. Together, you will discover, validate, and deliver automation capabilities that reduce manual work, increase consistency, and allow best practices, standards, and domain knowledge to be embedded directly into design workflows.
This role is about turning design automations into a first-class product capability. Automations are created as reusable, configurable building blocks that can be applied and adapted across different projects and contexts, without requiring users to write code or understand the underlying implementation.
As Engineering Manager, you will have the opportunity to apply and grow both your technical and people skills to enhance our product’s impact on our users’ workflows.
On the engineering side, you will work with a wide range of technologies, including web, large-scale systems, and cloud computing, tackling exciting challenges alongside a team of highly engaged and motivated colleagues. Our organizational culture encourages managers to contribute directly to the work while also supporting others.
On the managerial side, you’ll play an active role in our engineering management team, which collectively supports more than 60 engineers. Your main responsibilities as a manager will be to empower team members to succeed, foster a sense of belonging, and collaborate with other managers to build a solution-focused culture. In the spirit of servant leadership, we hope you’ll share your knowledge and expertise with other engineers, acting as both coach and culture bearer.
Our tools help architects, urban planners, and real estate developers find the smartest and most sustainable ways to unlock the potential of their projects. We focus on enabling outcome-based design through assessing the living quality (sun, daylight potential, noise, et al), environmental impact (embodied and operational carbon), and profitability of our users' projects.
