• Fachliche Anleitung und Betreuung von Lab Professionals, inkl. Arbeitseinteilung, Priorisierung und Feedback

• Beitrag zur Erweiterung und Verbesserung bestehender iPSC-basierter Assays im Bereich Neurodegeneration, Schmerz und/oder Neuroinflammation
• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit funktionsübergreifenden Teams (z. B. Screening, Pharmakologie, Zellbiologie, Datenanalyse)
• Einhaltung aller relevanten SOPs, GLP-nahen Standards, S1/S2-Sicherheitsrichtlinien und Compliance-Vorgaben.
• Regelmäßige Dokumentation, Gerätepflege und Unterstützung bei der Aufrechterhaltung eines sicheren, effizienten Laborbetriebs

• Promotion (PhD) in Biologie, Biochemie, Pharmakologie, Neurowissenschaften, Medizin (MD), Veterinärmedizin oder verwandten Bereichen
• Mindestens 2–3 Jahre akademische und/oder industrielle Forschungserfahrung post-PhD mit neuronalen 2D- und/oder 3D-Modellen in den Bereichen Neurodegeneration, Neuroinflammation und/oder Schmerz
• Nachgewiesene wissenschaftliche Expertise durch dokumentierte Beiträge oder Publikationen in anerkannten, Peer-reviewten Fachzeitschriften mit hohem Impact
• Erfahrung in der Leitung eines kleinen Forschungsteams ist von Vorteil
• Praktische Erfahrung in der Durchführung und Fehlerbehebung von iPSC-Reprogrammierungs- und Kultivierungsprotokollen
• Nachgewiesene Erfahrung in der Methodenentwicklung und der Optimierung von Differenzierungsprotokollen für menschliche induzierte pluripotente Stammzellen (iPSC) zu 2D- und 3D-neuronalen Modellen sowie Erfahrung in funktionellen Assays und zellulärer Charakterisierung
• Skalierung der iPSC-Produktion und -Differenzierung in Bioreaktoren und/oder Aufbau und Betrieb von Automatisierungssystemen
• 3D-organotypische Modelle (z. B. Organoide, Assembloide, Tissue Engineering, Co-Kulturen, Transwell-Setups usw.)
• MEA, HCA oder elektrophysiologische Verfahren
• Sehr gute mündliche und schriftliche Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Englisch; Deutschkenntnisse sind ein Plus

Scientist (m/f/d) – iPSC models for neurological diseases

• Providing technical guidance and supervision to lab professionals, including work allocation, prioritization, and feedback
• Training new team members and assisting with the supervision of interns and scientific guests (e.g., postdocs, doctoral students)
• Independently planning, conducting, and evaluating challenging experiments with human iPSCs
• Collaboration in the development and optimization of differentiation protocols for neuronal and nociceptive cell types
• Role as scientific expert in discussions with potential customers and preparation of project plans and associated cost estimates
• Responsible operational implementation of study components and ensuring data quality and compliance with project milestones
• Preparation and presentation of results for internal meetings, customer meetings, and scientific conferences
• Contribution to the expansion and improvement of existing iPSC-based assays in the field of neurodegeneration, pain, and/or neuroinflammation
• Close collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., screening, pharmacology, cell biology, data analysis)
• Compliance with all relevant SOPs, GLP-related standards, S1/S2 safety guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Regular documentation, equipment maintenance, and support in maintaining safe, efficient laboratory operations

• PhD in biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, neuroscience, medicine (MD), veterinary medicine, or related fields
• At least 2-3 years academic and/or industry experience with 2D and/or 3D neural models in the fields of neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, and/or pain
• Proven scientific expertise through documented contributions or publications in recognized, peer-reviewed journals with high impact
• Experience in leading a small research team is an advantage
• Practical experience in performing and troubleshooting iPSC reprogramming and cultivation protocols
• Proven experience in method development and optimization of differentiation protocols for human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to 2D and 3D neuronal models, as well as experience in functional assays and cellular characterization
• Scaling of iPSC production and differentiation in bioreactors and/or setup and operation of automation systems
• 3D organotypic models (e.g., organoids, assembloids, tissue engineering, co-cultures, Transwell setups, etc.)
• MEA, HCA, or electrophysiological methods
• Very good oral and written communication skills in English; German language skills are a plus
