A leading biotechnology company in Munich seeks a Staff Data Scientist to lead AI developments in healthcare imaging. This role requires strong expertise in deep learning and data science applicable to medical environments. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with MRI scientists to translate industrial insights. The position offers a competitive salary between €90,000 - €100,000 plus stock options, with hybrid work arrangements and a comprehensive benefits package.

Yearly Salary: €90,000 - €100,000 (fixed range, annual gross)
Stock Options: €40,000- €80,000
Benefits: Up to €5,000 annually

As a Staff Data Scientist, you will play a key role in designing and implementing the next generation of AI‑powered imaging applications in healthcare. You will work closely with MRI scientists, business, and product to translate Orbem’s insights from the industrial MRI product to the unique requirements of the healthcare space. Your scientific mindset and strong expertise in data and modeling help us build a healthier future.
On a typical day, you would:
Lead the design and implementation of ML solutions for healthcare (in particular deep learning)
Explore various datasets and biomarkers to find data insights for the healthcare domain
Translate knowledge and methods from Orbem’s industrial food applications to the healthcare context.
Validate reliability, fairness, and interpretability of our ML solutions
Collaborate with MRI scientists, product and business experts to ensure feasibility, desirability and viability of new products
Grow the know‑how in ML methods for the healthcare domain
