About Us
We are opening a new culinary destination in Berlin that brings the vibrant, spice-rich flavors of Kerala to the heart of Berlin. This is not just a restaurant, it's a celebration of culture, community, and conscious living. Our vision includes reduced food waste, local and fair sourcing, and a sustainable circular kitchen model. We're seeking a visionary Restaurant Operations Manager who can lead with both business insight and a sustainability mindset.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring excellence in service, hygiene, and efficiency.
- Design and implement sustainable sourcing and waste reduction strategies, including waste disposal and recycling systems.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and consistency in line with sustainability goals
- Collaborate with chefs and staff to maintain Kerala cuisine authenticity while promoting resource efficiency.
- Manage inventory, staff schedules, and vendor relationships.
- Ensure compliance with EU food safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Train staff on health, safety, service standards, and eco-friendly practices.
- Monitor operational KPIs, and implement continuous improvement processes.
- Engage with local communities and customers, hosting events, sustainability festivals, and food pop-ups to build brand presence and to blend Kerala culture with Berlin’s multicultural scene.
You Bring
- A Master's degree in fields such as International Business, Environmental Management, Hospitality Management, Sustainable Development, or Engineering with a sustainability focus (or equivalent experience)
- Strong knowledge of circular economy, sustainability compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
- Previous experience managing cross-functional teams, preferably in hospitality or food manufacturing.
- Proven skills in project management, supply chain optimization, and operational principles.
- Passion for food, sustainability, and bringing new ideas to life in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English; German is a plus. Malayalam or Hindi is welcome!
