Jobbeschreibung

We are xolo—a Berlin-based deep-science start-up on a mission to transform manufacturing with Xolography. Our technology enables customers and partners to create exceptional parts and products at a speed and precision unmatched by traditional 3D printing.

At xolo, we value intellectual rigor, ownership mentality, openness and honesty, speed over perfection, and joy in work. We have already taken Xolography from a bold idea to a real product, with top-tier partners and customers in R&D. Now, we are looking for passionate people to join us as we scale up and take things to the next level.

Aufgaben
  • Work closely with partners in the optical industry
  • Act as the optical expert within xolo, communicating complex optical principles both internally and externally
  • Lead optical system design for Xolography, optimizing light-sheet generation, projector integration, and overall light delivery
  • Develop and refine optical components to enhance printing performance
  • Prototype and test new optical concepts; manufacture small series light-sheet modules
  • Support application development, helping customers integrate Xolography for printing high-precision optical elements
  • Conduct hands-on lab work
Qualifikation

You have a truly entrepreneurial mindset and will work full-time (40h/week) in Berlin as an Optical Engineer. If you have built systems, show us your work. If you have established yourself in the optical industry, let us know who you have collaborated with.

  • Degree in optical engineering, physics or a related field
  • Passion for innovative hardware development, 3D printing, and pushing the
boundaries of what light can do
  • Experience in optical systems design, simulation and testing
  • Strong foundation in beam shaping, light-sheet optics, or projection systems—or a
    willingness to master these topics
  • Programming skills on one or more of the following: Python, C/C++, or MATLAB
  • Hands-on approach with a problem-solving mindset—someone who enjoys working in a lab as much as on simulations
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, supporting both printer development and optical application research
  • Comfortable explaining complex optical concepts to non-experts, customers, and
    industry partners
Benefits

We are building something truly new, and this is your chance to be part of it. As the first dedicated optical engineer at xolo, you’ll have a direct impact on shaping a groundbreaking technology that redefines how light is used in manufacturing. We move fast, solve hard problems, and believe that curiosity beats titles.

If you thrive in a place where ideas turn into reality quickly and where your expertise truly matters, we’d love to hear from you. Do not forget to show us what you have done.
