Role Overview :
The Site Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all Contractors execute tasks efficiently, safely, and in an organized manner. This includes reviewing work plans, ensuring Permit to Work compliance, understanding scope of work, and coordinating on-site support such as resources, scaffolding, cranes, and materials. The role involves supervising daily activities, planning, and optimizing site operations to minimize downtime, increase efficiency, meet deadlines, and control costs.
Support will be provided remotely from a centre of excellence with specialist resources available as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead on-site construction activities, ensuring high-quality delivery aligned with safety standards and project objectives.
- Promote a safety culture, ensuring compliance with HSSE standards and leading by example.
- Manage contractor interfaces, monitor performance, and facilitate coordination meetings to improve delivery and reduce costs.
- Supervise daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to schedules, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Assist in project planning, including methodology, scheduling, and budgeting, leveraging site-specific knowledge.
- Coordinate design communication, support work package development, and hold regular contractor briefings.
- Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and contractual obligations.
- Contribute to procurement strategies, scope definition, and contractor evaluations.
- Track performance metrics such as HSSE, schedule, cost, quality, and risk, and prepare performance reports.
- Facilitate meetings and reviews, including planning, kick-offs, and constructability assessments.
- Ensure permitting, method statements, and readiness activities are completed before field mobilization.
- Coordinate technical queries with engineering consultants, ensuring clear communication to avoid delays.
- Support transition from construction to commissioning, managing punch lists and handover documentation.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, NCRs, as-builts, and invoices.
- Manage Permit to Work processes, ensuring safety procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with client operations teams for smooth site execution.
- Identify lessons learned and promote continuous improvement and a culture of 'right-first-time' execution.
Required skills & experience :
- 10–15 years of construction supervision experience in industrial or infrastructure projects, including asset management and work pack coordination.
- Qualified trades or engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
- Ability to foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-morale team environment.
- Strong HSSE awareness and leadership in high-risk environments.
- Deep understanding of project lifecycle, site readiness, planning, and quality delivery.
- Familiarity with contracting and procurement processes, including evaluation and scope structuring.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience leading stakeholder discussions.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams including clients, contractors, and engineers.
- Skilled in reviewing project documents and safety documentation.
- Experience with commissioning, handover, and performance testing documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- A mindset geared toward continuous improvement and applying lessons learned.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); intermediate proficiency in German.
