Overview

TARP - Internal Opportunity (Non-Comp/VIOP). Position Type: Permanent. Location: Wiesbaden, Germany. USACE Organization: North Atlantic Division (NAD) - Europe District.

This job opportunity is open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY. It is announced through the USACE Voluntary Internal Opportunities Program (VIOP). Current, permanent USACE employees with noncompetitive eligibility to be placed in this position are eligible to apply. The program may be used for non-competitive placements, including voluntary reassignments, promotions not-to-exceed 120 days, voluntary changes to lower grade, details, and deployment opportunities. Temporary or term employees and Department of the Army Fellows assigned to USACE will not be considered through VIOP.

This is a JOBtoberfest Announcement for a permanent reassignment to an internal position in the North Atlantic Division, Europe District, Engineering Division.

Who may apply: This position is only open to current, permanent USACE employees with time-in-grade eligibility at the GS-0808-12 level for permanent reassignment.

Open Date: 25 September 2025. Closing Date: 14 October 2025. Anticipated Start Date: on or about pay periods beginning in the 2nd Quarter of FY26. Overseas Duty Location: Europe District Headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany or at McCully Barracks, Germany.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District’s headquarters is part of the U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden community on the Rhine River, offering access to local culture and amenities. Benefits may include DoDEA schools, on-base privileges, housing/utilities allowances, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Serving as an Architect with responsibility for coordinating architectural design reviews with in-house design review disciplines to ensure review comments and changes are discussed, understood, and incorporated.
  • Planning for the general functionality of individual structures and/or entire construction projects.
  • Developing or assisting in the development of design criteria.
  • Ensuring adequacy and compliance of design criteria on projects under construction.
  • Preparing technical data in the form of correspondence, design analyses, reports, or memos for record.
  • Preparing specifications and criteria to cover architectural design requirements.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Other Conditions And Requirements

  • All positions require the applicant to be a citizen of the United States.

  • Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel up to 25% of the time.

  • Relocation (PCS) expenses may be authorized if in the government\'s best interests.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain eligibility for a SECRET security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
Overseas Position
  • Overseas positions may have a tour limitation.
  • You may be required to complete and sign DD Form 2365.
  • Applicants must comply with Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in DoD Instruction 1315.19.
  • Must satisfy DoD employment in foreign areas requirements and have valid USAREUR driver\'s license and passport as applicable.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver\'s license and USAREUR driver\'s license; willingness to obtain and maintain a valid US Tourist and Official passport for the duration of employment.
