A leading biopharmaceutical company in Monheim, Germany, is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage financial compliance and reporting for local operations. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge focused on German GAAP and experience in international settings. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and have 3-5 years of relevant experience. We are looking for an Accountant for Germany and Austria (DE & AT) who is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and passionate about financial accuracy and compliance to join our Finance team at UCB, based out of our office in Monheim, Germany.
As a subject matter expert within the Finance organization, you will take responsibility for specific activities within the Record to Report and compliance stream. You will work within established procedures, presenting and discussing results, and suggesting improvements to existing processes. Your scope includes supporting all local compliance obligations, managing local financial statements, and maintaining relationships with local banks.
You will report to the local Finance Manager and collaborate closely with the local and global UCB Finance Team, outsourced accounting and compliance partners (including Big 4 firms), internal and external auditors, local compliance/tax specialists, and treasury and banking partners in Germany and Austria. You will build strong, transparent relationships across these groups, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
