A leading university in Germany is seeking two PhD candidates for a DFG-funded research project on affordance-based decision-making. Candidates should have a Master’s degree in Psychology, programming skills, and a strong interest in cognitive research. We are seeking two PhD candidates (paid 65%, TV-L E13) to join our DFG-funded research project on affordance-based decision-making at the intersection of Perception and Action in late fall/winter 2025 (funded for 3 years).
Location: University of Regensburg, Germany, at the Chair of Clinical Neuropsychology and Neuropsychological Psychotherapy led by Prof. Jennifer Randerath
Project Title: "To Do or Not to Do II: Principles and Neuroanatomical Correlates of Affordance-Based Decision-Making"
About the Project
This experimental project investigates the cognitive and neuroanatomical foundations of decision-making processes related to affordances. The research integrates behavioral paradigms, virtual reality, and neuropsychological data (e.g., lesion-symptom mapping) to explore how affordance judgments are shaped, how they can be tested and how they can be trained..
