Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a talented Intermediate Water Treatment Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work on various design assignments related to water and wastewater projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design water treatment systems independently and apply engineering knowledge to adjacent fields such as wastewater treatment, potable water supply, and wastewater collection systems.
- Manage small to medium-scale projects in related fields.
- Promote Parsons through client engagement opportunities.
- Provide input to CAD designers/drafters and carry out CAD tasks using 3D software and model creation.
- Prepare computations, material takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs. Assist in preparing requisitions for materials, services, and subcontracts.
- Review supplier drawings and perform technical bid analyses.
- Prepare specifications, data sheets, and construction documents.
- May need to provide the seal and signature of a professional engineer, ensuring compliance with all codes and regulations.
- Apply principles and theories from a four-year engineering degree and professional practice.
- Perform other related responsibilities as appropriate.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Chemical, Hydraulics, Water, or Environmental Engineering (or related).
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Manitoba or ability to obtain it within 6 months from another Canadian province.
- At least 4 years of experience in Wet Utilities, including potable water, wastewater, and sewerage networks.
- Detailed knowledge in designing water treatment systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems / OpenUtilities, or related software.
- Strong English speaking and writing skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with surface water and groundwater treatment.
- Experience with small and large-scale systems.
- Experience in Manitoba.
- Ability to apply engineering knowledge to wastewater treatment and municipal conveyance systems.
- Skilled in BIM applications.
