A staffing company in Canada is seeking a senior-level systems administrator to provide support for Enterprise Level Hardware Systems running Linux/Unix. Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level daily systems administration support for Enterprise Level Hardware Systems (running Linux/Unix).
- Develop, implement and maintain based systems based on client requirements.
- Install, configure and patch software for Enterprise Level Hardware Systems.
- Create a technical strategy to utilize IT infrastructure efficiently.
- Develop and coordinate backup and disaster recovery procedures.
Tasks
- Provide senior-level daily systems administration support for Enterprise Level Hardware Systems (running Linux/Unix), including monitoring, client support, and issue resolution
- Develop, implement and maintain Enterprise Level Hardware Systems (running Linux/Unix) - based systems based on client requirements.
- Install, configure and patch Enterprise Level Hardware Systems (running Linux/Unix) software.
- Install, configure, and set up Enterprise Level Hardware Systems (running Linux/Unix).
- Develop and implement security procedures for Enterprise Level Hardware Systems (running Linux/Unix) management.
- Provide Systems administration guidance and advice to programmers and analysts working in Enterprise Level Hardware Systems (running Linux/Unix).
- Create a technical strategy to efficiently utilize Enterprise Level Hardware Systems (running Linux/Unix) IT infrastructure.
- Develop and coordinate backup and disaster recovery procedures for Enterprise Level Hardware Systems (running Linux/Unix).
- Monitor server statuses, (availability, performance, resource utilization, alarms) and proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
- Provide technical systems administrator advice and guidance at the senior level to application programmers to help them develop and maintain required capability.
- Implement and maintain server security procedures as dictated by the Technical Authority.
- Implement, monitor and maintain server procedures and processes as dictated by the Technical Authority.
- Deploy, install, maintain and monitor management tools to monitor and manage servers.
- Respond to server issues and other hardware issues by coordinating as required with IT technical support.
- Mentor and transfer skills and knowledge to staff.
- Create documentation on operational procedures for use by staff.
- Support application architecture development.
- Meet with Technical Authority on a regular basis to discuss any issues and risks.
- Provide recommendations to meet performance improvement goals.
- Provide recommendations to meet business continuity goals.
