This experiential learning course offers a thorough examination of the legal aspects related to the governance and operations of sport. Students will explore the theoretical and applied complexities of sport law at various levels, including international, national, regional, provincial, and local organizations.
Working with real-life sport administrators, coaches, and athletes, students will develop an understanding of the legal frameworks and mechanisms of sport law, as well as practical skills for providing legal advice to sport organizations.
The Sport Law Clinic offers scheduling flexibility; conducted over two semesters, this three-credit hour course includes scheduled seminar-style classroom sessions, with most coursework consisting of student-scheduled dispute resolution work and a field research project.
This course will run similarly to the Jessup Moot; students will receive credits in the Fall, but grades will be submitted later into the second term.
To apply, please submit your CV to lawdean@unb.ca, noting in the subject line which course(s) you are applying for. Thank you to all who apply; however, only the selected applicant will be notified.
