CHYS 4P08 - Animals in the Lives of Children and Youth

Compensation

Marker-Grader positions are paid according to the qualifications that the employee holds.

· Master’s Degree Complete ($34.10/hour) - Paid to employees who have completed a master’s degree.(Rate effective September 1, 2024)

· Undergraduate Degree Complete ($29.40/hour) Paid to employees who have completed a four-year honours degree or a three-year pass degree.(Rate effective September 1, 2024)

· Third Year Complete ($21.70/hour) - Paid to employees who have completed the third year of an undergraduate honours degree.(Rate effective September 1, 2024)

· Second Year Complete ($19.09/hour) Paid to employees who have completed the second year of an undergraduate degree.(Rate effective September 1, 2024)

· First Year Complete ($18.00/hour) Paid to employees who have completed the first year of an undergraduate honours degree.(Rate effective September 1, 2024)

Duties

Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.
The marker-grader is expected to mark assignments, term projects, case reports, midterms, progress exams, and/or final exams and must be prepared to provide written feedback to students that will clearly identify the basis of the grade assigned; whether it is due to substantive content, or to written communications, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and overall structure and organization of the submission.
The marker-grader may be expected to invigilate mid-terms and examinations for this course, or enter grades into databases, at the request of the course instructor.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 4th Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYSPhD program. Previous successful experience as a Marker-Grader for CHYS 4P08 will be considered as equivalent.
2. Must have previously completed CHYS 4P08 or equivalent*, and obtained 80% or higher. Previous successful experience as a Marker/Grader for CHYS 4P08 will be considered as equivalent.
3. Evidence of communication skills (i.e., letter of reference attesting to communication skills as a student in seminar or evaluation ofsuccessful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader).
4. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.


* It is the applicant’s responsibility to identify the course for consideration of equivalency. For courses taken at Brock, identify the course
(i.e., XXXX 3P00). For courses taken elsewhere provide a copy of your transcript, highlight the course and provide the course description.
Failure to provide the required documentation to support the request for consideration of equivalency will result in an incomplete
application.
