Environmental Monitor – CPESC Focus Vancouver, BC

About Allnorth

Allnorth is a multi-disciplinary engineering, project delivery, and construction services company. We provide smart and practical project solutions to clients in the metals and minerals, energy and renewables, fiber and chemicals, and infrastructure sectors. With offices across Canada, and into the US and Mexico, we continue to grow!

Our team is our most valuable asset, and a triple bottom line (TBL) philosophy is at the heart of our business. It takes a talented, motivated, and empowered team to delight our clients, driving profitability for all parties. Our guiding principles include safety as part of our DNA, building and nurturing Indigenous relationships, supporting our communities, and emphasizing environmental stewardship.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a skilled Environmental Monitor with a strong focus on Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) who holds a CPESC designation (or equivalent) or is actively pursuing it. You will be the go-to resource for planning, implementing, and leading ESC activities on construction and mining projects. Your work will support regulatory compliance, environmental performance, and field execution — while mentoring others and contributing to our team’s success.

A Day in the Life

  1. Develop site-specific ESC plans and prescriptions for construction and mining projects.
  2. Lead on-site ESC installations and mentor junior field staff.
  3. Perform ongoing inspections to ensure best practices and compliance.
  4. Collaborate with contractors and clients to implement timely mitigation strategies.
  5. Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation and reports.
  6. Monitor construction activities related to environmental protection, including the implementation of environmental protection plans.
  7. Attend project and safety meetings.
  8. Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  9. Liaise with clients, regulators, and contractors.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Diploma or degree in environmental science, agrology, biology, forestry, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on erosion and sediment control (ESC).
  • CPESC designation (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain it.
  • Proven ability to prepare ESC plans and lead installation and compliance monitoring in the field.
  • Strong knowledge of ESC best practices in construction and/or mining environments.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Bonus if you bring:

  • QEP or QEP-eligible designation (e.g., RPBio, P.Ag, RPF, P.Eng).
  • Experience mentoring junior monitors or overseeing ESC field teams.

What’s in it for you?

We believe that a happy and fulfilled team leads to exceptional results, which is why we offer a range of perks to support your well-being, career growth, and community engagement.

  • Flexible work schedule and location to promote work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive benefits, including extended health and dental coverage and RRSP matching.
  • Employee Assistance Program for team members and their families.
  • A culture of respect and inclusivity that fosters long-term relationships and a team atmosphere.
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth.
  • Team Member Referral Program.
  • Monthly “Lunch & Learn” sessions.
  • Opportunities to participate in social and safety committees, fundraising, and community initiatives (e.g., Movember, Pi Day, Food Banks, Women’s Shelters, Ronald McDonald House, Earth Day cleanups).

WE TAKE CARE OF YOU SO YOU CAN TAKE CARE OF OUR CLIENTS

Joining us means facing rewarding, career-developing challenges that contribute to our clients’ successes. Despite our growth, you will be recognized as a vital member of the Allnorth team.

Engage with us at Allnorth and be empowered to enrich people’s lives, including your own.
