Job summary

A legal service provider for First Nations located in Sioux Lookout, ON, is seeking a Community Legal Worker. The successful candidate will work closely with the community and justice personnel to enhance access to legal services, assist clients with various legal matters, and contribute to public legal education initiatives. Qualifications include a secondary school completion and effective communication skills. This role offers a starting salary of $61,479 annually and a comprehensive benefits package including a pension and health coverage.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Secondary School.
  • Willing to learn the various aspects of the legal system including Restorative Justice alternatives.
  • Satisfactory written and oral communications skills.
  • Must be willing and able to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Work with justice personnel and the community to improve access to justice.
  • Assist clients and their families in various legal matters.
  • Promote and coordinate NALSC restorative justice programs.
