A local park and recreation authority in Canada seeks a Recreation Van Trip Specialist who will plan and lead engaging outdoor trips. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and customer service skills, a clean driving record, and is willing to undergo background checks. This role combines logistics with recreation programming to provide memorable experiences across various age groups and abilities.
The Recreation Van Trip Specialist is responsible for planning, organizing, and leading recreational van-based trips and outdoor activities for individuals and groups. This role blends logistics, customer service, and recreation programming to deliver safe, engaging, and memorable experiences. The specialist ensures all aspects of the trip—from transportation and equipment to activities and safety—are well-coordinated and executed. The ideal candidate is friendly, supportive, and professional.
This is a Stipend Position. State law requires that the applicant selected for the position must complete the fingerprint process to check for or verify conviction record; TB test clearance is also required. A clean driving record is also required.
The Recreation Van Trip Specialist is expected to work effectively under minimal supervision from the Recreation Supervisor and Recreation Coordinator, and work within a framework of standard District policies and procedures.

Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, participants, and volunteers. Leadership and organizational skills. Ability to use independent judgment and take appropriate action to ensure participants’ and staff's safety. Ability to deal with emergencies and stressful situations.
Outdoor recreational facilities; frequent public contact; exposure to sun, heat, wind, rain, and inclement weather. The schedule may vary.
Motorized vehicle, telephone, machines, etc.
Must have reliable transportation to commute to and from work locations within the District.
