Salary: $27.50 – 30.50 per hour

Schedule: 2.5-3 hour shifts 1-5 times a week. Hours and shifts may vary depending on registration and coverage

The City of Burnaby is seeking enthusiastic individuals to work in our play-based preschool programs. These exciting contract employment opportunities involve leading or assisting social preschool programs for children ages 3 through 5, parent and tot programs for children ages 1 through 5, as well as many specialty programs including art, newcomer groups, science and preschool sports and gym activities.

Qualifications:

  • Current Early Childhood Education (ECE) certificate, or student training for ECE, or comparable experience.
  • Fluent (written and oral) in English.
  • Current Emergency First Aid with CPR C or 8-hour+ equivalent first aid training.
  • Ability to consent to a Police Information Check.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead or assist in social preschool programs for children ages 3-5.
  • Assist parent and tot programs for children ages 1-5.
  • Participate in specialty programs including art, newcomer groups, science, preschool sports and gym activities.
