A professional association in Kingston is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead operations and support governance. The ideal candidate will have experience in the non-profit sector, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders. This role offers a significant opportunity to impact the real estate sector in Southeastern Ontario.
The Kingston and Area Real Estate Association (KAREA) is a not-for-profit professional organization representing over 650 REALTORS who are members of the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) and the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA). Its jurisdiction includes Southeastern Ontario, covering the County of Frontenac (Kingston, North, Central, and South Frontenac, and Frontenac Islands), the County of Lennox & Addington (Greater Napanee, Stone Mills, Addington Highlands, and Loyalist Township), and the County of Leeds, along with all incorporated villages, towns, and cities within these regions.
As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KAREA, you will oversee the daily operations of the association and lead a small, dedicated team. You will support a profession that operates in a rapidly evolving and challenging environment, working under the guidance of the President and Executive Committee. Your responsibilities include implementing directives from the Board of Directors, planning and coordinating programs to meet strategic goals, and ensuring the association’s needs are met effectively. Your strategic leadership and governance support will help position KAREA as a trusted partner and influential voice in the real estate sector.
The ideal candidate is results-oriented, a proven administrator, and a trusted partner with leadership experience, preferably in an association, non-profit, or the real estate industry. You understand governance and the dynamics of a member-driven organization with multiple stakeholders. Your high political acumen, excellent communication skills, and ability to convey complex messages to diverse audiences are essential. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within a vibrant industry.
To apply, submit your application online through Odgers, our leadership advisory partner, ideally by September 9th. We appreciate all expressions of interest; however, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further steps.
KAREA is an equal opportunity employer. In accordance with the Accessible Canada Act, 2019, and provincial accessibility standards, accommodations are available upon request for applicants with disabilities throughout the recruitment process. Odgers and KAREA are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We encourage candidates to learn more about our efforts by accessing our DEI resources.
