A premier conservation organization is seeking a Steward for its properties in Westport, Newfoundland and Labrador. The role involves performing routine maintenance, caring for landscapes, and ensuring accessibility for visitors. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, able to lift 50 lbs, and authorized to work in the U.S. This seasonal position offers benefits including sick time and discounts at cultural institutions.
Founded in 1891 by a group of visionary volunteers, The Trustees of Reservations is the nation’s premier conservation and preservation organization. The Trustees preserves properties for public use and enjoyment, of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value in Massachusetts. Our properties are open to all, and we thrive by involving as many people as possible in all that we do. We aim to protect special places for future generations to enjoy in perpetuity, and have helped protect more than 50,000 acres, including 27,000+ acres on more than 120 reservations that are open to the public. As a Steward, you will perform routine maintenance on these properties, caring for the fields, trails, gardens, structures, and other natural and cultural features. Day to day operations include mowing reservation entrances, trimming brush, maintaining walking trails, mowing cultural landscapes, invasive species removal, and more.
This is a seasonal, non‑exempt position working 40 hours/week reporting directly to the South Shore Stewardship Manager.
