Description:

The responsibilities of the role include providing advice on testing strategies, test plans, tool selection, and resource identification. The role involves planning and organizing testing efforts for large systems in GUI and non-GUI environments, executing various tests including systems integration, specialized, and user acceptance tests (e.g., stress tests). The Quality Assurance Specialist develops test plans, scripts, and cases, and executes them across components, collaborating with project leads and team members throughout the system development lifecycle.

General Skills:

• Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts.
• Knowledge of structured development methodologies and application maintenance.
• Proficiency with CASE tools, data query tools, automated testing tools, and version control systems.
• Experience executing functional, non-functional, and system-level integration tests.
• Support and participation in UAT activities.
• Understanding of quality assurance principles, practices, tools, and methodologies.
• Ability to create testing documentation, including strategies, plans, cases, and data.
• Experience with various testing phases such as unit, integration, load, and performance testing.
• Knowledge of SDLC and project management methodologies like Agile and Waterfall.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in teams.
• Knowledge of automated testing tools.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in programming languages, information retrieval, object-oriented testing methods, and data management principles.
• Understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
• Experience coding automated test scripts and testing COTS applications.

Testing Experience (35%)

• 8+ years as a Software QA Tester.
• 5+ years testing COTS applications.
• Experience with Oracle Siebel CRM, Adobe AEM, and Siebel Test Automation is a plus.
• Understanding of SDLC and project methodologies.

Technical Skills (20%)

• Experience with Jira/Azure DevOps, defect management, documentation, and automation tools.
• SQL, data models, Java, and JavaScript knowledge are assets.

Public Sector Experience (5%)

• Experience with Siebel modules relevant to the public sector, case management, and related portals.
