The City of Maple is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Recreation Program Assistant 1 to support festivals and events in the City of Maple Ridge. As a member of our team, the incumbent will be involved in vital tasks, including event set‑up and take‑down, activity engagement, dynamic program leadership, conducting insightful event evaluations, and ensuring smooth activity operations. In this role, the incumbent serves as a crucial assistant, reporting directly to the Neighbourhood Engagement Programmer overseeing neighbourhood events and activations within the City of Maple Ridge. Two years of post‑secondary education in Parks and Recreation or related field. Prior experience in a program leader capacity is also preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with other staff and members of the public both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of the principles of recreation and leisure. Specific knowledge of program planning and evaluation procedures.
Class 5 Driver’s License valid in the Province of British Columbia.
This position is funded through the BC Summer Grant. Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years old at the time of application.
