Occupational Health Nurse à Grande-Bretagne

As a member of the Community Mental Health-Program Psychiatric Outreach Team, you will provide psychiatric nursing services to community mental health program clients using best practices and innovative approaches, including specialized psychiatric nursing assessments and referrals to appropriate resources. This position will provide nursing support/relief to multiple teams within the community program.

1. Work collaboratively and effectively within the Community Mental Health Program teams and with community partner agencies, including hospitals, shelters, indigenous centres and lodges, drop-ins, rooming homes, lunch clubs, and the Ottawa Hospital.
2. Practice in various community settings within the City of Ottawa.
3. Conduct specialized psychiatric nursing assessments, including mental status assessments in the community environment.
4. Provide educational sessions to community partner agency staff regarding mental illness, treatment, and recovery.
5. Collaborate with family physicians and psychiatrists to support patient care.
6. Identify and develop measures to evaluate and improve services.
7. Participate in evaluation research activities.
8. Maintain current knowledge of best practices and nursing standards through literature review, educational events, and networking.
9. Ensure documentation and data collection comply with hospital, college, and legislative standards and timelines.
10. Complete all required non-clinical administrative documentation, such as workload measurement and quality improvement forms.
11. Complete EHR training upon hire.
12. Work in accordance with staff and patient safety policies and procedures of the organization.
13. Promote a work environment aligned with the organization's Anti-Racism, Harassment, and Discrimination-Free policy.

1. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Science is an asset.
2. Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
3. CPR certification within the last 12 months.
4. Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Workshop (CPI).
5. Strong assessment, crisis intervention, and counseling skills.
6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
7. Experience working with homeless individuals or those at risk of homelessness.
8. Minimum of five years' experience working with seriously mentally ill individuals and those with concurrent disorders.
9. Experience in community settings and knowledge of community resources.
10. Knowledge of the Mental Health Act of Ontario.
11. Strong advocacy skills.
12. Concurrent Disorder Training is an asset.
13. Ability to work independently in an increasingly automated environment.
14. Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable vehicle for daily operations.
15. Proficiency in English (oral and written); bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
