Responsibilities

1. Supply and empty bed pans
2. Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse
3. Serve meal trays and feed patients
4. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients
5. Make beds and maintain patients’ rooms
6. Bathe, dress and groom patients
7. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
8. Collect specimens
9. Administer first aid in emergency situations
10. Provide personal care
11. Provide companionship
12. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
13. Launder clothing and household linens
14. Administer bedside and personal care
15. Feed or assist in feeding
16. Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
