Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. is a leading producer of metal‑based assemblies across a variety of industries—including mining, oil & gas, and heavy equipment manufacturing. We are seeking an experienced production Fitter to join our team as a permanent full‑time employee (40–50 hours per week). The position begins immediately and is available on day and afternoon shifts, with overtime pay after 40 hours per week.
- Examine blueprints and material lists to determine parts specifications.
- Fit and assemble structural frameworks and housings from metal materials following design specifications.
- Position parts in jigs, file, chisel, and grind to fit components together.
- Compare assembly dimensions to blueprints using a square, rule, and calipers.
- Modify parts with hand tools to meet print requirements.
- Review manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities and assist the team with process enhancements.
- Minimum 3 years of production experience.
- Secondary (high school) graduation certificate or equivalent.
- Proficiency reading and understanding fabrication blueprints.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a team‑player attitude with good communication.
- Good grounding in basic math fundamentals.
- English language proficiency.
- Welding experience: 2 years (required).
- Blueprint reading experience: 2 years (required).
- Willingness to relocate to Windsor, Ontario (or work on site).
- Steel‑toed safety boots and measuring equipment (tape measure required).
