Fabrication Fitter Southwestern Manufacturing Inc Jasper Alberta

Location: Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. is a leading producer of metal‑based assemblies across a variety of industries—including mining, oil & gas, and heavy equipment manufacturing. We are seeking an experienced production Fitter to join our team as a permanent full‑time employee (40–50 hours per week). The position begins immediately and is available on day and afternoon shifts, with overtime pay after 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine blueprints and material lists to determine parts specifications.
  • Fit and assemble structural frameworks and housings from metal materials following design specifications.
  • Position parts in jigs, file, chisel, and grind to fit components together.
  • Compare assembly dimensions to blueprints using a square, rule, and calipers.
  • Modify parts with hand tools to meet print requirements.
  • Review manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities and assist the team with process enhancements.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of production experience.
  • Secondary (high school) graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Proficiency reading and understanding fabrication blueprints.
  • Ability to use hand tools effectively.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a team‑player attitude with good communication.
  • Good grounding in basic math fundamentals.
  • English language proficiency.
  • Welding experience: 2 years (required).
  • Blueprint reading experience: 2 years (required).
  • Willingness to relocate to Windsor, Ontario (or work on site).
  • Steel‑toed safety boots and measuring equipment (tape measure required).
