About the team:
The Distributed Data Storage and Management Lab leads research in distributed data systems, aiming to develop next-generation cloud serverless products that encompass core infrastructure and databases. This lab addresses various data challenges, including cloud-native disaggregated databases, pay-by-query user models, and optimizing low-level data transfers via RDMA. Teams within this lab create advanced cloud serverless data infrastructure and implement cutting-edge networking technologies for Huawei's global AI infrastructure.
About the job:
Lead innovation in large-scale distributed data systems and AI + big data technologies to enhance the company's core products and drive commercial success through concept, architecture, and technical innovation.
Drive technological breakthroughs in distributed data systems by integrating ideas from academia, industry, and open-source communities; plan technology directions, architecture designs, and key innovations.
Implement critical technologies supporting flagship products across various domains and explore new business opportunities and monetization models.
Develop the ecosystem around distributed data systems by defining strategies and execution plans to build industry influence.
The base salary for this position ranges from $190,000 to $350,000 depending on education, experience, and expertise.
About the ideal candidate:
Master's or PhD in Computer Science or related fields such as Mathematics or Computer Engineering.
8+ years of experience in related fields such as Distributed Systems.
Strong skills in system architecture and technological innovation, with a deep understanding of industry advancements in distributed data systems.
Proven success in projects and expertise in related domains, with leadership capability in complex initiatives.
Familiarity with current trends, challenges, and applications in distributed data systems and AI data infrastructure.
Excellent strategic thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technologies into competitive solutions.
