Job summary
A technology firm in Markham is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer. The role focuses on developing high-quality Windows GFX drivers and requires strong leadership and communication skills. Candidates should have a Bachelor's or Master's in relevant fields and experience in C/C++. This position offers a hybrid work model, with flexible hours and a collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Strong object-oriented programming background with C/C++ preferred.
- Ability to write high-quality code with keen attention to detail.
- Expert in Windows Driver Development.
Responsibilities
- Work with GFX Driver Tech Lead for assigned tasks and actively report progress.
- Work on Windows GFX Driver development and execution for Pre-Silicon and Post-Silicon.
- Triage, debug, and fix internal and external issues.

Education
Max bill rate: ***/hr CAD
Location: Markham, Hybrid (at least 3 days a week)
Hours: 37.5 per week
Duration: 1 year
Interviews: 3 rounds at most, virtual would work
- Two rounds are MKM local time
- One round is SRDC (China) time zone. (If #1 gets passed)
- Windows driver development experience
- WDDM and Graphics knowledges

AMD is looking for a specialized software engineer who is passionate about developing the SW stack for the world first class semi-customized products. You will be a member of S3 SW Driver team and will work on the leading hardware and software technology.
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.
- Work with GFX Driver Tech Lead for the assigned tasks and actively report progress
- Work on the Windows GFX Driver development, implementation and execution for both Pre-Silicon and Post-Silicon
- Triage, debug and fix internal and external issues
- Investigate and develop some new ways to improve working efficiency
- Deliver commitments on a timely basis
- Apply a data driven approach to investigate and resolve problems.
- Closely collaborate with upstream and downstream teams
- Strong object-oriented programming background, C/C++ preferred.
- Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail.
- Expert of Windows Driver Development
- Expert of software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems and profilers.
- Experience with GFX driver development experience is better.
- Knowledge in Windows WDDM and Graphics rendering is a plus.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
