Full Job Description

Job Title: Accounting Coordinator

Location: Calgary, AB

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00

Position Overview: Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Coordinator is responsible for maintaining processes in the coordination of accounts payable, reconciling cash and credit card accounts, and general accounting. This position requires strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, the ability to work within deadlines, and the ability to take ownership of the accounting activities performed by the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accounting duties, including bank deposits, bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, weekly accounts payable, and maintaining processes to enable a timely monthly financial statement close.
• Manage the accounting email inbox, responding to queries and capturing invoices.
• Collect and reconcile credit card support.
• Prepare weekly payables list for Controller review and approval; create payments on the banking platform for the Controller to submit.
• Follow up with customers on aged invoices/mail out statements.
• File accounting records.
• Perform general accounting work (Journal entries, account reconciliations).
• Sales Use Tax submissions for USA sales.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven work experience as a bookkeeper, accounting coordinator, or accounts payable.
• 5+ years of accounting work experience.
• Demonstrates initiative and works proactively to resolve issues.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and streamline processes.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with programs such as Microsoft NAV an asset.
• Experience with ERP implementations and User Acceptance Testing.
• Experience in manufacturing or related industry an asset.
