Job Description

We are looking for a full-time Class 1 LCV linehaul driver for a switch run between Yellowknife and Enterprise with a departure time of 5:00 pm daily, Monday to Friday. This is a pin to pin position. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Safely operating and maneuvering Long Combination Vehicles (LCVs) on highway routes.
  • Conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Accurately logging driving hours, rest periods, and other relevant information in accordance with federal and provincial regulations.
  • Efficiently loading and unloading freight, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
  • Maintaining clear communication with dispatch, customers, and other drivers as needed.
  • Adhering to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.
  • Promptly reporting any accidents, injuries, or vehicle maintenance issues to management.
  • Assisting with route planning and optimization when necessary.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.
  • Completing all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Participating in ongoing safety training and professional development programs.
  • Demonstrating flexibility in schedule to accommodate occasional weekend or holiday work as required.

    • Driver must reside in the Yellowknife area, no fly-in options. This position requires a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.

    Qualifications
    • Class 1 license
    • LCV qualified an asset
    • 5 years of class 1 experience
    • Physically fit - able to lift 75 LBS, and push 200 LBS
    • Reliable and dependable
    • TDG, WHMIS, and Forklift experience are an asset
