Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Business Developer with a strong background in industrial automation. The ideal candidate will excel in navigating technical conversations, instilling confidence in clients, and collaborating with team members to engineer solutions tailored to customer needs. This role requires a level-headed professional who can ensure success from the inception of a sales opportunity through to the project's completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and Pursue Opportunities: Research and engage potential clients in the industrial automation sector to generate new business opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing solutions that build trust and confidence.
  • Collaborative Solution Engineering: Work closely with engineering and project management teams to design and propose customized automation solutions that meet client specifications.
  • Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify areas for growth and improvement.
  • Sales Process Management: Lead the sales process from initial contact through contract negotiation and project finalization, ensuring client satisfaction and successful project delivery.
  • Utilize Sales Tools: Effectively manage sales leads and opportunities using company-designated software.
  • Achieve Sales Targets: Develop and implement strategic plans to meet or exceed sales goals and contribute to the company's growth objectives.
Key Qualifications
  • Core Competencies: Expertise in Rockwell Automation Allen Bradley systems. Experience with plant and machine network systems is highly desirable.
  • SCADA Experience: Familiarity with SCADA operations and platforms, including FactoryTalk, Ignition, and VTscada, is a significant benefit.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in business development or sales within the industrial automation industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of automation technologies and the ability to engage in detailed technical discussions with clients and team members.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Organization & Presentation: Must be well-organized, neat, and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel within a 4-hour radius of Berwick, Pennsylvania.
  • Self-Motivation: Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Compensation: This position is commission-based, with earnings tied to company growth. The specific commission structure will be determined based on the candidate's skill level and experience.
