Overview

The Team: The e-CYMH Team is a newly established group of professionals working to improve access to mental health services for children, youth, and families across British Columbia—especially in underserved and remote communities. Our team includes five clinicians, a team leader, and a team assistant, based in different regions of the province. We value equity, cultural responsiveness, and trauma-informed care, and we collaborate with local CYMH teams, schools, health authorities, and community partners to provide flexible, meaningful service that reflects the diverse needs of those we serve.

Role

As an e-CYMH Clinician, you’ll provide virtual mental health services to children, youth, and families across BC, focusing on culturally safe, trauma-informed care. You’ll work closely with local teams and community partners to deliver assessments, therapy, and coordinated support that meets the diverse needs of each family. Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Masters in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care, or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered.
  • NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based mental health services.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Three or more years experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community-based mental health services.
  • One or more years (gained in the last three years) delivering virtual services for children and youth and their parents in a mental health setting.
  • One or more years experience (gained in the last three years) working with parents providing mental health coaching and support for parenting children and youth with complex mental health presentations.
  • Experience utilizing Dialectical/Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (DBT/CBT) and Emotion Focused-Family Therapy (EFFT), gained in the last three years.
  • Training and experience in working with high-risk populations.
  • Past experience working as a SPO 24 (mental health clinician) in a Child and Youth Mental Health setting.
  • Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

Location and Work Arrangements

This position can be based out of any of the listed location(s). Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement. An eligibility list may be established.
