A leading industrial company in Hamilton, Ontario, is seeking a Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled team. Qualifications
- Valid 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification (an asset).
- Proven supervisory experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Proactive problem-solving approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in demanding outdoor industrial environments.
- Previous experience with CMMS systems (an asset).
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of licensed 421A mechanics, apprentices, and experienced technicians.
- Oversee daily repair troubleshooting and maintenance activities for a wide range of heavy equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct inspections and implement preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
- Support task scheduling, work prioritization, and planning in collaboration with the Maintenance and Operations Teams.
- Lead monthly shop supervisor safety inspections and promote a safety-first culture.
- Utilize CMMS (Maximo) for work order management, reporting, and maintenance tracking.
- Organize and maintain the shop environment, including tools inventory and parts.
- Provide clear direction and delegate tasks effectively to maximize team productivity.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Maintenance Supervisor to lead our team of mechanics and apprentices. This is a Monday to Friday role on a bi-weekly rotation (days and afternoons).
