We are currently hiring for the position of:
ASSISTANT, INDUSTRY SCREENINGS
The Assistant, Industry Screenings will be responsible supporting the implementation and daily onsite needs of TIFF Industry’s partner led programming as well as across aspects of the Market screening programme for the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receive, process and log Market Screening booking requests
Support stakeholder communications via Market Screenings inbox
Onsite contact for Market Screenings daily during the festival
Support the financial reconciliation process for Market screening payments
Participate in Market Screening scheduling, proofing, conflicts checking and data entry process
Assist with the creation of event booking contracts
Assist in drafting pitches and proposals for stakeholder event opportunities
Work collaboratively with TIFF’s internal event production team on the collection of event briefs and event logistics.
coordinate payments with national agencies, film studios, film commissions, and trade publications.
Organize the distribution of screening attendance reports to stakeholders
Create and distribute welcome packages inclusive of specifications, deadlines and details on included services for booked events.
Provide administrative support to both Industry team and internal production teams to ensure booked events are presented in a smooth and satisfactory manner for stakeholders.
Attend weekly team meetings and contribute as needed in regards to individual tasks/portfolio
Provide a detailed post mortem
JOB GRADE & SALARY:
Job Grade 2
$22.50-25 per hour commensurate with experience.
TARGET CONTRACT DATES:
June 23- September 14, 2025
WORK LOCATION:
Office Location: 350 King Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 3X5
Weekly in-office requirements:
Minimum 2 days (November to May)
Minimum 3 days (June to October)
Festival Office Requirements: Full Time during Festival
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Degree in arts management, administration or commerce considered an asset
Minimum of 3 years experience working with staff and delegating responsibilities
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Canadian and International Industries with ability to demonstrate
Working knowledge of domestic and international distribution, sales activities, national promotional agency networks, funding practices, co-productions and international film festivals and markets
Exceptional business writing skills with attention to detail, including but not limited e-marketing, social media messaging and proposals.
Demonstrative ability to listen to client feedback and adapt strategies for communication accordingly.
Ability to speak foreign language considered an asset
Ability to think critically and anticipate issues or opportunities and proactively propose solutions to address them.
Ability to work well under pressure and make quick but informed decisions
Strong accounting and financial acumen
Ability to deliver feedback and service with a high level of tact and diplomacy when working with clients.
Demonstrative accounting and negotiation experience required
Adaptable to a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends
This position requires being in office on a regular basis.
