Position Overview:

Are you looking to be part of a growing and developing team in an organization that values its people, customers, work, and supply chain? If so, APEX is currently accepting applications for a CNC Machinist within its Custom Contract Manufacturing Group.

This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Shift Supervisor. The primary role of this position is to set up and operate CNC lathes or CNC mills, including 3 and 5 axis milling.

Some weekend work or overtime may be required and training will be provided.

Responsibilities:

• Perform work & maintain schedule as directed by the Supervisor.
• Operate CNC Lathe and/or 3 Axis-CNC machines including machine set-up.
• Work efficiently to produce conforming product.
• Follow work package instructions.
• Read, interpret production documentation (work instructions, blueprints, etc.).
• Participate in continuous-improvement activities.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Use all personal protective gear as directed by policy or other.
• Operate hand tools including precision measurement equipment.
• Other duties as assigned to meet operational requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• College diploma in CNC Manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and work experience would be considered an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring devices.
• Knowledge of GD & T would be considered an asset.
• Ability to work both individually or within a team environment with a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of the manufacturing industry would be considered an asset.
• Ability to follow verbal or written instructions with minimal supervision.
