About Voyis:

Voyis designs and manufactures high performance underwater optical sensors (lasers, cameras, lights) for robotic inspection vehicles to enhance the visibility and understand of civil infrastructure. Our systems provide detailed visual and 3D data to support the assessment of critical assets such as bridges, dams, tunnels, and water intake structures, even in low-visibility or confined spaces. By delivering precise, real-time insight into structural conditions, Voyis helps engineers and asset owners make informed decisions about maintenance and safety. Our mission is to bring clarity to the world’s most inaccessible environments promoting safety and enabling every inspection vehicle to see complex infrastructure as clearly as we see it on the surface.

Our underwater laser scanners, cameras and lights are proudly designed, engineered, and built in Waterloo, Canada. Voyis operates independently under ownership of Covelya Group.

What you’ll do:

In the role of Sales Engineer – Civil Infrastructure at Voyis, you will be the first point of contact for all our customers and partners in the Civil Infrastructure market vertical and will be the driving force in developing a solution to solve their inspection requirements using Voyis’ products and capabilities.In the Sales Engineer – Civil Infrastructure role, you will report to our Head of Market but will be responsible for developing a market strategy, identifying/engaging targeted accounts, and expanding revenue generated in the Civil Infrastructure industry.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and works hard to deliver results, while fully taking ownership of managing Voyis’ growth in the Civil Infrastructure industry. Prior sales experience is not required for the role; however, we are looking for a candidate who is open to engaging in a collaborative, education-based sales approach with a reasonable technical foundation. We are a small team with loads of exciting opportunities, and everyone is encouraged to step outside of their defined role to help us achieve our goals together.

Responsibilities

  • Become the central point of contact for all external stakeholders in the Civil Infrastructure industry, helping customers solve their inspection requirements with Voyis’ capabilities.

  • Develop and execute the industry’s sales strategy for Voyis in conjunction with Voyis’ sales, marketing and product team.

  • Identify and engage with the key industry targeted accounts and partners to expand sales growth in the market vertical.

  • Generate bespoke quotations, proposals, presentations, and other sales collateral to effectively educate and communicate how Voyis’ solution meets our customer’s project requirements.

  • Diligently maintain HubSpot CRM customer details and deal funnel for adequate sales forecasting.

  • Work closely with Voyis’ marketing to identify gaps in industry content, and to support creation of engaging market specific materials targeting the audience within the industry.

  • Travel internationally and domestically to attend industry events, trade shows, and visit customer facilities to build a strong presence in the market and to further strengthen customer/partner relationships.

  • Continuously engage with customers, post-sale, to ensure the customer is satisfied with Voyis’ delivery and to identify expansion opportunities for repeat sales.

Skills you will bring to the table:

  • A strong technical foundation with an aptitude for creative problem solving. This technical foundation can involve work experience in the following fields: hydropower, nuclear, municipal water infrastructure, marine construction, and/or heavy civil construction.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an evolving sales market, where creativity, collaboration, flexibility, and results are valued.

  • Exude professionalism as the face of the organization and make lasting impressions on our customers.

  • Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to educate others by simplifying highly technical concepts and creating or leveraging materials to get the key points across.

  • Ownership and ability to work independently achieving sales goals

  • Capable of building trusting relationships through honesty, reliability, and expertise.

Bonus Points for:

  • Technical diploma or degree (i.e. Bachelor of Civil or Mechanical Engineering)

  • Experience with managing or engaging with external stakeholders

  • Experience in engineering consulting, project management or technical sales

  • Experience working in the Civil Infrastructure, Marine Construction, or Diving industries
