At NB Power we are a team, committed to offering the best customer experience, ensuring energy security, and accelerating a sustainable clean energy transition. Why? The Mactaquac Generating Station began generating electricity in 1968. Since the 1980s, concrete portions of the hydro station have been affected by a chemical reaction called alkali-aggregate reaction. The reaction causes the concrete to swell and crack and has required substantial annual maintenance and repairs. NB Power is proposing a project to ensure the station can operate to its intended 100-year lifespan with a modified approach to maintenance and adjusting and replacing equipment and concrete overtime.
As part of the Mactaquac Life Achievement Project, the Senior Project Estimator (Senior Cost Estimator) this role is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and issuance of cost estimates and all supporting documentation. The position will perform detailed reviews and validations of cost estimates developed by external consultants to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements. The role will also coordinate and integrate estimating-related information across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Scheduling, and Cost Control functions to support effective project planning and execution.
An equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.
An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
