You will be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting plant processes, optimizing equipment performance, and adhering to Dows strict safety and environmental standards.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment, demonstrating leadership, initiative, and strong organizational skills.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance technical knowledge and operational expertise.
Facility-Specific Operations:
  • Hydrocarbons: Manage processes such as fractional distillation, cracking furnaces, steam turbines, and cryogenic systems. Opportunities to advance toward 3rd and 2nd Class certifications.

  • Gas Phase Polyethylene: Operate flammable hydrocarbon systems. Training includes travel to facilities in Alberta and Louisiana.
  • Power & Utilities: Operate natural gas/hydrogen cogeneration units and water treatment systems, with the potential to advance certifications.
Training & Schedule:
  • Initial training (approximately 3 years) will occur on a day shift schedule.
  • Once the plant is operational (estimated late 2026), you will transition to a 12-hour rotating shift.
  • Some roles require extended travel for training at other facilities.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Progress toward ABSA 4th Class certification or higher.
  • Minimum age of 18 with a valid Canadian drivers license.
  • Physically able to respond to emergencies and work in confined spaces, varying heights, and fully encapsulated PPE.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Technical diploma in Chemical or Power Engineering Technology.
  • 1+ years of experience in operations, instrumentation, mechanical, or electrical roles.
