My client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is undergoing a major transformation by migrating their data and analytics platforms to Azure Cloud. They are seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of a secure, scalable, and governance-focused cloud-native data ecosystem.

What You'll Do:

• Architect cloud data solutions using Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, Unity Catalog, and Purview

• Design and enforce data governance frameworks aligned with PIPEDA, OSFI, FINTRAC

• Develop scalable, secure ETL pipelines with CI/CD integration

• Define and manage data access policies, lineage, and metadata across cloud environments

• Support the migration strategy and ensure compliance throughout the transition

• Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, and Security teams to embed governance into every layer

• Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge sharing and best practices

What You Bring:

• 7+ years in data architecture or engineering with strong Azure cloud experience

• Hands-on expertise in Databricks, Spark, Unity Catalog, and Purview

• Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, and CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps and Git

• Deep understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in regulated industries

• Preferred certifications: Azure Data Engineer, Databricks Developer/Engineer

• Experience in financial services and working with regulatory frameworks is an asset
