CDCC offers clearing and settlement services for all MX transactions and certain over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives. CDCC provides central counterparty, clearing, and settlement services for all transactions on MX's markets and some OTC products.
Reporting to the Director, CDCC Business Operations, you will provide leadership, direction, and relationship management support for CDCC Clearing Members, with responsibilities including:
You will have direct staff management responsibilities, including planning, assigning, and directing workflow. You are also responsible for attracting, developing, training, evaluating, and managing team performance.
In this role, you are a subject matter expert in the Clearing & Settlement of the Montreal Exchange's derivatives products — Futures & Options on Futures (Interest Rate, Index, Equity, Currency, etc.) and OTC Fixed-Income Repos. You will ensure continued and enhanced client satisfaction during CDCC Clearing Sessions and identify ways to add value through existing and new products and services based on understanding current issues, processes, and long-term needs. Your availability is critical for managing daily operations, policy adherence, incident management, and escalation to senior levels of internal and external stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
Provide guidance on complex technical & analytical requirements related to Collateral Management, Clearing, Banking & Settlements for Derivatives, OTC Fixed Income, and related products & services.
Lead and direct Business Operations staff, including decision-making and team management.
Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring Member needs are met and solutions are provided.
Oversee Collateral management to satisfy intra-day & end-of-day margin calls.
Coordinate with the Montreal Exchange for timely product launches and client trade needs.
Maintain strong relationships with banks, depositories, and vendors to meet processing SLAs.
Collaborate with other managers to meet position, reconciliation, and financial obligation deadlines, mitigating risks.
Support new product and project processes, including onboarding, testing, training, and procedures updates.
Participate in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery testing to meet CCP requirements.
Maintain relationships with regulators, auditors, risk management, and technology partners.
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, rules, and controls.
Manage staff performance, coaching, and development, including succession planning.
Support or act as delegate for CDCC Business Operations Management as needed.
Education / Experience
University degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
8-10 years of progressive operational/business experience in the securities industry, with at least 5 years in management.
